The cast of characters that make up the Inside Ride are a motley crew indeed, pooling together their talents, skills and passion to bring you a fun, professional and polished team building and fundraising event that your organization/school will remember fondly for years to come.
After riding in 2008 Sears National Kids Cancer Ride, Jenn realized that being a difference maker gives her the greatest satisfaction in life. Formerly an RMT, in 2010 she changed careers to join The Inside Ride team. As the Event Manager she sees her role as being that of quarterback to the inside ride team, to help coordinate the teams efforts and maximize each person’s individual skill set so that we have an impact greater than the sum of our parts. According to Hannah this blue-eyed and platinum blonde’s unassuming exterior belies her inner trucker; this girl snores louder than your average-sized linebacker.
Two Truths and a Lie
Jenn’s other bike is a Honda sportbike, she loves UFC and has seen “The Sound of Music” 25 times
After riding in the inaugural SNKCR in 2008 Hannah knew that if she ever hoped to get any sleep she could never bunk with Jenn Davies again. She’s since bunked with her on multiple occasions across the country on the Inside Ride National Tour. Now she has taken on a new role at The Foundation, Manager of our Third Party Events program but lend her talent to The Inside Ride team whenever she can. Hannah can be found in the background of all of those new exciting events making things run as smoothly as possible. Or riding her bicycle
Two Truths and a Lie
Hannah has ridden across Canada twice, once on a unicycle. And she once got pebbledash stuck up her nose.
Who doesn’t know a Mike Smith, right?! Well, you’ve never met a man like this Mike Smith we guarantee it! For 8 years he’s been the manager of the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride, our annual ride across Canada benefitting paediatric oncology groups and centres across the country. Not only does he take dozens of riders safely across the country but he’s ridden his own bike across Canada to a destination where kids live beyond this senseless disease. He also crews and emcees Inside Ride events whenever is needed, or whenever he needs an excuse for a good air guitar dance!
Two Truths and a Lie
He’s the world’s worst Bollywood dancer. He’s won a trip to Cuba for him and his whole family simply based on the fact that he’s called Mike Smith. He’d do anything for any one of his friends he calls family.
A small town gal at heart Kim’s energy and sense of fashion belies her status of “first time Nana”! When Kim’s not answering your questions on the phone and entering your generous donations into our system she can be found dancing or watching Coronation Street – sometimes at the same time!
Two Truths and a Lie
Kim is an expert bargain shopper and is uber crafty in the creative sense, not the cunning sense. Though some may dispute that! She was also Beaverton’s Beauty Queen, narrowly beating out Gladys Norris for the title in 1972.
Natalie has been a passionate volunteer for the Foundation since 2009 and although she tells us she doesn’t know we know exactly how many Inside Rides she’s crewed for since then. Exactly twenty four thousand, seven hundred and ninety two. Billion. And after all her time giving to others while working with us and at childhood cancer camps for 4 years she has seen first hand what a difference the funds we raise together can make in a child’s life.
Two Truths and a Lie
Not content with being a real life hero Natalie spends her summers running around in a superhero costume. She has owned five turtles, one snake, two Iguanas and a hamster all at the same time. Natalie has a severe allergy to sugar.
Inspired by a very special young champion who didn’t survive his cancer battle Kealey has been volunteering with the Foundation since 2009, lending her time and skills to the Inside Ride, Tour for Kids and the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride. From Me to We, volunteering, nursing and doing the coffee run Kealey was born to help people, it’s in her bones and we’re lucky to have her on our side.
Two Truths and a Lie
Kealey is the youngest member of the Inside Ride, which is surprising once you quickly realise that she’s always the first one to happily do the heavy lifting at any event. Her ultimate goal is to work at SickKids Hospital as a paediatric oncology nurse.
